International Blogging

by Des Walsh on January 12th, 2007

For anyone interested in how the blogosphere is developing beyond (as well as in) the USA, there is a new, freely downloadable and thoroughly absorbing report out, courtesy of Edelman, A Corporate Guide to the Global Blogosphere. The report draws on the Edelman Omnibus Blog Survey conducted by Edelman’s “independent research company, Strategy One”. Countries surveyed were Belgium, China, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.

I’m only half way through the report but will be studying it closely. My first impression is that, in line with the report’s title, it is a “(corporate) guide to the global blogosphere”, rather than a “guide to the corporate blogosphere”. Actually I can’t quite work out what makes it a “corporate” guide, as distinct from a “guide”, but let that ride: the report has lots of interesting data and observations. It will surely be very helpful to globally-oriented companies already blogging or considering it, and to those of us who endeavour to guide businesses on how best to make use of blogging.

Thanks to Easton at Business BlogWire for the alert.
