A Peek At Some Unusual Uses for Business Blogs

(businessandblogging.com) Here at Business and Blogging Liz and I are very interested in everything about business blogs. That’s why, when I found the article titled Business of blogging: How to make it work at Reuters, I was immediately drawn to it.
The article makes a few of the same points about what makes good business blogging that my co-blogger, Liz, highlighted in her recent post, Business Blogs: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
The most interesting thing about this article is the unusual blogs that it uncovers. It just goes to show that, no matter how imaginative we try to be, there are business bloggers out there with even more imagination.
(Personally, I think that that’s great! I say, “more power to them.” If it works, then I think that they should go with their ideas.)
Here’s a sneak peek at each of the unusual uses for blogs listed in the Reuters article:
- Conception Connections - A blog for, and by, couples who are looking for fertility solutions (hosted by a company that specializes in such solutions). The interesting blog features both stories from participants in reproductive solutions (egg donors) and discussions about the ethics surrounding infertility.
- SCOTUSblog - The Supreme Court as a blog … Okay, not quite. But the lawyers who maintain this blog follow the Supreme Court decisions closely and offer their own analysis. What a valuable resource! This kind of sharing is what blogging is all about!
- Saunderslog.com - This blog takes personal branding to a whole new level. The CEO of a large Canadian telecommunications company maintains this personal blog. This just goes to show that sometimes CEOs can do their own blogging.
