A Super Bowl Sunday Coffee Break

(www.businessandblogging.com) This is Super Bowl Sunday, so I couldn’t start our business and blogging coffee break without listing a few football-related blogs. (If you’re not a sports fan, don’t worry. There’s something here for you too.)
Do NFL Teams Blog?
I wanted to know, so I set out to look for official blogs for the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. With very little effort, I quickly found tons of football fan blogs out there. With a little more effort I was able to find the official website for each team:
- New England Patriots — Is there a blog here? Over to the left on the official site, I found a small link to the Patriots Football Weekly, the blog for the New England Patriots. I was pleased to see that comments are enabled, and they are getting participation from readers.
- New York Giants — Is there a blog here? I found the Rookie Travel Blog, the Super Bowl XLII Travel Blog, and this from Radio. Sadly, none of these posts allowed comments.
So, apparently NFL teams do understand the importance of blogging. What do they know that your business doesn’t?
Otherwise Significant In the Business Blogosphere
The Fortune 500 Blogging Wiki, with links to reviews of prominent Fortune 500 Company blogs, has been relaunched. John Cass made the announcement on his PR Communications blog.
Is the reign of WordPress as the leading blogging platform over? It just might be. Just yesterday TechCrunch’s Michael Arrington announced the launch of a new all-in-one blogging platform called Crowd Fusion that will handle just about every function that you could want from a website. The new platform is coming from Weblogs, Inc co-founder, Brian Alvery. Crowd Fusion is definitely a development to watch.
Speaking of launches, Skellie (whose blog posts have appeared at many prominent blogs) has recently launched her second site, Anywired, as a guide to working online. From the looks of things, this site is going to become a must-read for bloggers and other online workers. (Skellie’s first site is the popular Skelliewag.)
Here’s a scary thing - someone has impersonated Seth Godin on Twitter. Both Seth and Darren Rowse have blogged about it. Although Seth’s impersonator seems harmless, you never know. Do you have any social media accounts that you don’t know about? Are you sure?
That’s it for this week! Enjoy your Sunday, whether you watch the Super Bowl, or not.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ Donovan McNabb has a blog! Our local newspaper uses it as a source quite a bit. I can’t get the link to work from his actual site but you can see it here, too: http://www.yardbarker.com/users/DonovanMcNabb

Hi Kelly
Thanks for the link! I took a look at Donovan’s blog and it is really interesting - I especially enjoyed the fact that his latest post was about his mom!
