Business and Blogging and b5media
As of today, Business and Blogging is officially launched as part of the rapidly growing b5media blogging network and ‘categorically’ speaking as part of b5media’s new Business Channel.
b5media (www.b5media.com) is a global new media network featuring more than 150 blogs on a wide variety of subjects ranging from entertainment and news to technology and sports. With content written by passionate people from all over the world and visited by more than two million unique visitors a month, b5media is among the world’s largest online new media networks.
What can I say? This is a privilege and I acknowledge the visionary founders of b5media, Jeremy, Darren, Shai and Duncan for their creation of the network and I thank them for the invitation to participate.
Thinking Home Business, the blog I have put most of my blogging energies into over the past couple of years, will continue, probably with a bit of a shift of emphasis. To be frank, I haven’t quite figured out the details of that shift yet, but it will undoubtedly have less emphasis on business blogging, which I will be covering here.
Business and Blogging is about empowering business people to use blogging to advance their business. As a business coach, my aim is always to empower others by helping them to discover their own resources and create their own future. Translating that to blogging, my aim is for this blog to support business owners in finding their own voice and building trust with their customers, in and through blogging.
This blog is intended to be international in scope, inviting and seeking information around the globe, and seeking examples of where companies have been able to use blogs to extend their global reach.
I’ll be looking here at blogging from a determinedly business perspective, inevitably with a big measure of positivity, because that’s the way I am and the way I see business blogging, but also with a healthy measure of basic business savvy.
In other words, I intend to be realistic about return on investment or, to use Debbie Weil’s great term, “return on blogging”. I intend to address management and human resources issues, marketing, business development strategy, risk management and legal liability issues (I am not a lawyer but I know how to link).
And how encompassing is the word “business” for me in respect of this blog? Basically as broad as possible across the spectrum, from Fortune 500 global behemoths to the solopreneurs working from their own homes.
That’s the beauty of blogs - there is technological, financial and cultural scope for all who wish to join in.
