Coffee Break
(www.businessandblogging.com) Welcome to this week’s coffee break. I just put a fresh pot on to brew. Why don’t you do the same? Then join me in this week’s look around the web.
Earlier this week I wrote about claiming your identity as an expert. This post from Chris Baggott at Chiefmarketer expands on that theme:
Blogs let Amateurs Steal Your Business Expertise.
As you know, Laura and I believe more small businesses and non-profits could be using blogging as an effective marketing and customer relationship tool. While the blogs described in the following CNN article are non-commercial, the same approach could easily be adopted by veterinarians, zoos, and animal shelters: Even Your Dog Has a Blog
Here’s a good example from the Associated Press of bloggers using their expertise in a narrow niche (frozen lunch food) to develop an audience and an appeal to marketers: Companies Court Convenience Food Blogs
If you don’t have the time to blog or feel uncomfortable with the medium, don’t forget that many companies are now hiring professionals to write their blogs. To get an inside look at this approach read this post from Remarkablogger in which Michael Martine interviews Rebecca Leaman, paid blogger for Wild Apricot.
And finally, it seems appropriate this week to mention the non-profit blog for Easter Seals. Easter Seals provides help, hope and answers for families living with autism today.
Enjoy your reading and your week - let me know of any good articles that you’d like to share!
