Coffee Break

(businessandblogging.com) Grab your coffee cup and let’s explore the web!
This post highlights some of interesting Sunday reading choices.
Debbie Weil has an interesting post about The controversial issue of ”data portability” (or what we used to call “privacy”). As someone who conducts business online, her post raises an interesting question: where does online interaction (we also know it as online branding) end and privacy begin?
Mike Sansone, over at ConverStations, has published a great worksheet for planning blog posts. This is a great tool whether you’re new to blogging, or just getting started.
Mason Hipp has created a Small Business Blogging Map over at the SmallFuel marketing blog. I love illustrations and Mason’s map is a terrific visual method for a small business to learn about blogging.
We also have some great blog carnivals from the past week, each with its own wealth of Sunday reading. Here are four carnivals that you might enjoy:
The 40th Edition of the Carnival of Network Marketing is hosted this week by Network Marketing Posts.
A great fun article from this carnival is Abbott & Costello - “Who’s On First?” - A lesson to Internet Marketing Crowd. Learn what the classic Abbot & Costello routine has to do with Internet marketing. Bloggers can learn from this post by making sure that they are offering something that their readers really want and need.
The Newsy Carnival of the Capitalists has been remade. Be sure to review the new rules.
A fascinating post from this carnival is What is Adaptive Capacity. The author talks about change and how to prepare your organization for it. Since change is inevitable, I can’t thank of anyone who couldn’t benefit from reading this post.
The E-3 Carnival of Success Principles has a number of interesting posts.
Tim Gary’s post from this carnival, How to Make Time Out of Thin Air really caught my eye. Who couldn’t use more time? (Once you do find some more time, maybe you’ll spend it blogging.)
The Carnival of Small Business Issues - Edition 33 is hosted this week by Atlantic Canada’s Small Business Blog.
Carol Bentley’s entry into this carnival, Does Your Business Pass the “Charlie the Plumber” test… is an insightful look at who you choose to do business with and why you choose them. Once again, the principles can also apply to bloggers, especially where she talks about positioning yourself as an expert. A blog is a great way to do that.
Also, don’t forget about SOBCon 08! It’s not too early to begin planning. (I learned about it first from Easton’s Business Blogwire blog.)
That about wraps up this week’s coffee break. I hope that you enjoyed it.
