Gerry McGovern Has a Bet Each Way on Business Blogging
I was intrigued to read Stephan Spencer’s Business Blog Consulting post on web guru Gerry McGovern’s ambivalent feelings about business blogging.
Gerry McGovern, for the benefit of those unfamiliar with him or his work, traverses the globe explaining to corporate, not-for-profit and government audiences what makes websites work and what doesn’t. In a world of people calling themselves web gurus, he actually deserves the title.
His emailed missives are consistently informative and often challenging. You can sign up at his site.
And because I am used to his challenging of current mantras, it was not really a surprise to find in Stephan’s post that McGovern combines a very positive view of business blogging with a policy of not encouraging his business clients to blog.
Like Stephan, I understand what Gerry M is saying and, while I’m not holding my breath, I share Stephan’s optimism that once Gerry starts blogging, he will find his way to recommending that his clients join him.
