More Than Blogging
Yesterday, Liz discussed how Whole Foods Market has incorporated many social media tools such as podcasting into their online corporate efforts.
Whole Foods Market is not alone.
Social media tools are the next “big” thing in Web 2.0, and nearly every blogger that I know of participates in some form of social media - with good reason. Social media can grow blog traffic and build community in a way that search engines can’t.
This week Business Week is running a special feature that takes a look at the future of online technology, and guess what?
Social media and social networking play a huge part in the future that Business Week envisions. The feature takes a look at many of the popular social networking tools, such as Twitter and Facebook.
If you’ve been a regular Business and Blogging reader, then the focus on social media shouldn’t come as a surprise to you. In fact, these days YouTube is practically a household word.
The Business Week feature even goes so far as to predict a future social media bubble (which will come about because social media has now become big business in and of itself). It also takes another look the continuing phenomenon of “megablogs” (popular, multi-blogger blogs like Techcrunch).
If you’re serious about making the most of your business blog, then the Business Week feature is well worth taking a look at.
