Thinking Globally at BlogWorld Expo
Come November, I’ll be joining with my internet marketing/tech guru/new media wiz colleague, Rich Brooks from Portland, Maine, to host a session at the BlogWorld and New Media Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Our session, part of the Executive & Entrepreneur conference on November 7, will be on a subject I love discussing, going global with new media, or how to do business anywhere, using new media.
Begs the question, of course, as to what we mean by “new media”.
Fortunately we have a smidgin over three months to figure that out.
And also to figure out how the session is going to run, what topics or sub-themes we should incorporate and, crucially, what the people at the session could hope to get from attending and participating.
Because we do want it to be about participating, not just attending.
After all, our session has been billed as part of the “Bleeding Edge” stream and Rich and I do not want to be the only ones getting out there, risking our opinions!
And what better time to start inviting participation than right now!
Which brings me to the real purpose of this post, namely (drumroll!) to announce that we have launched a blog on the subject as a means of inviting ideas, opinions, helpful links, hopefully some vigorous disagreements, towards having a really dynamic, fun, and generally educational experience when we gather at the session in November.
The Go Global New Media site is dedicated to that process of pre-conference participation.
There are only a couple of posts there right now, but that will change shortly.
As it’s a pretty clean slate at this stage, there is plenty of opportunity for you to help shape the discussion - maybe even draw our attention to your new, world-shaking application!
So whether you are going to be in Las Vegas in November or not, we invite you to visit and share on the blog and get the RSS feed so you keep in the loop.
